Bulunsky District (Russian: Булунский улу́с; Sakha: Булуҥ улууһа) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion, or ulus), one of the thirty-four in the Sakha Republic, Russia. The area of the district is 223,600 square kilometers (86,300 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a settlement) of Tiksi.[2] District's population: 9,046 (2010 Census preliminary results);[5] 9,775 (2002 Census);[9] 17,257 (1989 Census).[10] Population of Tiksi accounts for 55.9% of the district's population.[5]
